Trombones later in the 14th century developed a lot, as you can see it went from a piece of antler, into 3 pieces of metal. Those pieces are the slide, the bell, and mouthpieces. This is a slide trombone which is the same as a tenor trombone.
In the 18th century, the trombones were starting to be used in military marches along with the drums.
In the 19th century, not much has changed, however, most of the more common trombones today (besides the tenor trombone) were created in the later 19th century like the: bass, contrabass, and valve trombone.
The 20th and 21st century nothings really changed with trombones except trombone players are becoming more skilled.
